Fatigue

Fatigue

You may know the reason for your fatigue, but often, even after all the testing has been done, nothing shows up and you can be left with no answers. I want to tell you that there are so many answers and treatments for fatigue. Some of the most common reasons are low serum iron, adrenal fatigue, liver fatigue, post-viral fatigue, and insomnia. Sometimes people can have more than one of these at a time.

In an appointment with me, I will ask lots of questions, all giving me answers about what’s going on in your body. From what time of day do you feel the most tired, through to how you sleep, all give me pieces of the puzzle to put together. I also take the time to understand the full effect that the symptoms are causing, as well is looking into what has caused the problem.

Naturopathic treatment for fatigue

Want to know what’s causing your fatigue?

Here are some symptoms that can point you in the direction of the cause
  • Exhausted after lunch, often needing caffeine to get through the early afternoon. You may wake around 3am and have trouble getting back to sleep. The mostly likely cause for this fatigue is liver fatigue, read more
  • Tired most of the time, but worse as the day goes on. You may feel worse on a day off, and your ideal day would be spent in bed. Your mostly likely cause is adrenal fatigue, read more
  • Exhausted and often grumpy in the morning, getting better as the day goes on. You may experience heavy periods, or not eat much red meat, low iron is the mostly likely cause here. You can read more about it on my iron blog post, but having your iron tested with a blood test is the best way to be sure.
  • You have been exhausted ever since being sick. Post-viral fatigue is similar to adrenal fatigue, but bought on by a virus. You can read more about it here on a blog post.
  • Insomnia, this is pretty obvious, you’re tired because you don’t sleep well. You can read more about it on a blog post. Natural medicines can be really effective in treating insomnia.
